For ordinary people, there is no way because these are very dangerous investments which could lead to loss of money’’.

Deputy finance minister of Russia Alexey Moiseev plans to ban sales of cryptocurrency saying ‘it is hard to argue pyramid scheme’.

In an interview on Rossiya 24, which is a local channel, Moiseev shared government’s plans on cryptocurrency. He said that government wanted only ‘qualified investors’ and people who really want to buy crypto assets to use cryptocurrency.

“For ordinary people, there is no way because these are very dangerous investments which could lead to loss of money’’.

Contrasting statements

Alexey Moiseev made this statement few weeks after state-sponsored BITCOIN mining company said it plans to raise $100 mln so that market share can be taken away from China.

These new plans will make Moscow Stock Exchange the only platform through which investors could have access to bitcoin and others.

The above comments also suggest that Russia’s under-development BitRuble will have more market freedom.

“We are not offering to call currency or regulate currency’’, Moiseev added.

This piece of news, however, doesn’t make it clear how authorities will stop citizens from buying cryptocurrency. Steps like blocking of exchange websites may be taken in future.
